Kite and windsurfing

More and more we are seeing kite and windsurfers choosing Marsa Alam as a preferred destination. The constant wind and sandy lagoons along the coastline make it a perfect playground for beginners and advanced users. There are various kite and windsurf stations in Marsa Alam and the sport is gaining tremendous popularity in the region.

The water is relatively flat and there are virtually no hazards (no rocks and no sharp corals), so protective shoes are not needed. Hamata is a great spot with very little tourism, perfect for a holiday that only revolves around kitesurfing...

As the spot is blessed with thermal winds, the wind usually builds up like clockwork during the morning, and wind speeds slow down at the end of the afternoon. The wind direction (after noon) is usually side-shore to side-onshore.
